A Scientific Seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Was Conducted.
In coordination with the Deputy Directorate of Student Affairs, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Rohani Roshan, delivered a scientific seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The seminar was attended not only by students from various faculties of the Afghan International Islamic University but also by students from central universities.
Dr. Roshan provided a detailed discussion on the history of Artificial Intelligence, stating that the origins of this technology date back to the 1950s. He added that AI resembles the natural human process of learning and working, similar to how a child learns from family members within a household.
He further emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is not limited to technology and computer science alone; rather, it is widely applied across various scientific and professional fields such as medicine, engineering, agriculture, journalism, law, and even in everyday activities. AI plays a significant role in facilitating tasks and increasing efficiency.
During the seminar, Dr. Roshan also addressed the issue of trust in Artificial Intelligence. Alongside highlighting its benefits, he pointed out certain limitations of this technology, noting that AI can sometimes provide information that is inaccurate or not aligned with original sources. He stressed that although AI is highly valuable in simplifying tasks, it should be used with caution in certain areas.
It is worth mentioning that the Afghan International Islamic University has established a new Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence at the postgraduate level. This program is expected to play a significant and rapid role in advancing research, scientific innovation, and development in the future.
