A Scientific Seminar Held under the Title “Factors of Air Pollution and Its Solutions”
A one-day scientific seminar titled “Factors of Air Pollution and Its Solutions” was conducted by the General Directorate of Professional Development under the Academic Affairs Office of the Afghan International Islamic University, with the participation of faculty members, university leadership, and administrative staff.
At the beginning of the seminar, the Deputy for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Abdul Wahid Liaqat, delivered an introductory speech on air pollution. He stated that preventing air pollution is the responsibility of every individual, and everyone must fulfill their duty in keeping the environment clean.
Subsequently, Professor Hamidullah Younasi from the Faculty of Agriculture presented a scientific lecture under the same title. He comprehensively discussed the importance of environmental protection from an Islamic perspective, the concept of air pollution, types of pollution, its impacts on society, its harmful effects on human health, and the ways to prevent air pollution.
Mr. Younasi also advised that people should, as much as possible, prefer walking or using bicycles instead of vehicles, and use electric-powered tools and equipment instead of fuel-based ones.
It is worth mentioning that the Afghan International Islamic University, alongside teaching, pays special attention to environmental protection in order to provide a suitable and peaceful environment for education, teaching, and research.
