Afghan International Islamic University
1. Brief History of the University:
The Afghan International Islamic University (AIIU) is the first international university in Afghanistan, established after the rise of the Islamic Emirate. The leadership of the Islamic Emirate and the Ministry of Higher Education recognized the need to create graduate-level institutions to train qualified professionals in Afghanistan. Based on this, the Afghan Islamic Emirate's Cabinet, in its meeting on 01/09/1400 (Gregorian), approved the establishment of the Afghan International Islamic University (AIIU).
The primary goal of this academic institution is to provide quality education and training to Afghanistan's academic cadres and specialists, conducted in line with religious and national values. The leadership of AIIU believes that the comprehensive development and stability of the country is embedded in quality education. With the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and the relentless efforts of AIIU's leadership, a standard academic environment was quickly established, attracting attention to the university. Currently, AIIU offers Master's and Ph.D. programs in 17 different fields under the faculties of Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, and Sharia.

4. Objectives:

6. Key Achievements:
- AIIU has been operational for over three years and has established 15 graduate-level departments across four faculties: Sharia, Agriculture, Engineering, and Medicine. Some of these departments include:
- Sharia Faculty: Islamic Banking (PhD), Jurisprudence and Political Sharia (PhD), Fiqh and Law (PhD), Islamic Banking (Master), Jurisprudence and Political Sharia (Master), Fiqh and Law (Master).
- Agriculture Faculty: Horticulture (PhD), Agronomy (PhD), Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (Master), Animal Nutrition and Production (Master).
- Engineering Faculty: Structural Engineering (PhD), Industrial Engineering (Master), Mining Engineering and Management (Master).
- Medical Faculty: Public Health (PhD), Medical Technology Laboratory (Master), Microbiology (Master).
- Graduate programs have been developed, and faculty members from Afghanistan and foreign Islamic countries (such as Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, and Turkey) have been recruited for teaching, research, and capacity-building.
- AIIU has signed memorandums of understanding with several government and private institutions to support academic research, including institutions like Afghanistan Bank, National Bank of Afghanistan.

- The university has received lab equipment worth millions of Afghanis for its Medical Faculty from the Ministry of Public Health.
- AIIU also obtained a license to publish the academic journal "Shari ‘a Legal Journal Fajr al-Afghan" from the Ministry of Higher Education.
- The university has implemented a smart class project for students' research.
- Since its establishment, AIIU has generated nearly 28 million Afghanis in revenue, contributing to the Emirate's treasury.

Afghan International Islamic University, under the Ministry of Higher Education, is one of the important academic institutions in the country. Since the rise of the Islamic Emirate, AIIU was approved by the Cabinet in 2020 and has been instrumental in fulfilling the educational and research needs of the country.
AIIU is Afghanistan's first international university dedicated to graduate-level Master’s and Ph.D. programs. It also has faculty members who are renowned professors, both locally and internationally. Our mission is to produce qualified academic personnel who will not only serve Afghanistan but also the wider Islamic world. In collaboration with other national and international institutions, AIIU will continue to contribute to research and knowledge transfer.
